The Bubble Skirt: Project Run and Play

When Project Run and Play announced the latest challenge, a play on “bubble dress”, I was so excited.  My daughter had a birthday party she was going to be attending and I was already planning on making her a bubble skirt to wear.  Even better, the theme of the party was “French Bakery” with American Girl Dolls.  So I found the perfect Michael Miller French inspired fabric and went to work making the skirt and a blouse to go with it.  The blouse is a Lisette pattern where I replaced the ruffle with a collar.  And of course, my daughter’s doll got a matching outfit.  I’m pretty happy with the result.

Be warned the pictures are not the best quality because I was in a time crunch.  I hope to replace these later.

  1. I love it! And I love that you made a matching outfit for the doll. My daughter has been asking me to make her American Girl doll matching outfits with hers, and I just haven’t even tried looking for tutorials yet. Inspirational!
